  2. Thanks!

The song of the male robin is to advertise his territory or to attract a mate. So yes, they were probably marking their territory. However, they may not have all been males – the differences are small. Compared with males, females have paler heads that contrast less with the gray back.

  3. Wow, you’ve seen so many species that I can’t see in my country…the Blue-winged Teal is an amazing one, for example! Here in Europe we have the Eurasian Teal, it’s also a beautiful bird but you know, bird watchers always prefer the birds they can’t see…
I’ve been doing bird-watching since I was 5-6 too! 😀 And I’ve seen about 240 species too…that’s cool. Do you mind looking at my page? That would be cool! Here I leave you the link: http://mirantcapalcel.blogspot.com/
Well, my blog isn’t as interesting as yours, but I do my best! 😉

    1. Welcome to my blog!

I totally agree with the fact that bird watchers prefer the birds that they don’t see often, if ever – for example you’ve seen Egyptian Geese and Spoonbills, and I would love to see either one!

I have read some of your blog, and will read more soon, although I don’t understand the parts that are in Catalan. I do however, speak some French, which helps a bit.

      1. Thanks for checking out my blog…as for the catalan parts, don’t worrie, they say the same things than the english ones, it’s just a traduction.

        I’ve just read you’ve seen Common Goldeneyes…wow. I’m jealous… 😛

  4. WoW! I’m very impressed by this extensive list!
Hiking with my friends this weekend, we saw a ton of male robins. Do you know much about their mating habits? A friend thought they were all marking their territory before the females arrive. Is this true?

  5. Wow Ethan! I think that if I started now, it would take me a lifetime to get as far as you have!
