We both have Magpie posts this week — I love the iridescence on the tail in this photo.
I know this one, too!! Your post doesn’t mention what a noisy, messy nuisance they are. While I’ll say no more on that subject, I will tell you this: I LOVE the appearance of this bird. I really think they’re gorgeous. I looked online to see if I could find photos from a photographer I once found who’d done a series of photos to display the fact that magpies aren’t simply ‘black and white.’ I couldn’t find that post, but I did find a stunning photograph posted through the Audubon Society that illustrates the same thing, if anyone cares to check it out: https://www.audubon.org/news/the-brassiest-bird-west
